Old San Juan Tours Reviews

What travellers wrote after their own morning in the old city, in their own words, alongside every operator's published rating. Prices and what each fare covers sit with the guided tours of Old San Juan listings.

Traveller reviews from the tours listed here

These are travellers' accounts of the day they booked. The mixed ones stay: a two-star about steep streets and a microphone nobody at the back could hear tells you more about a walking tour than another line of praise, and a four-star noting that the fort is self-paced once the guide gets you in is the single most useful sentence in the set.

What travellers keep saying

They name the guide first

Across every operator here, reviewers name the person before they name the place. Melanie, Adrian, Antonio, David, Roberto, Leslie, Pablo, Diego, Carola, Nahiomy, Jesús, José, Javier, Normari, Yamile and Javi all appear repeatedly, and the difference between a good morning and a flat one is described almost entirely in those terms.

Heat management is the recurring praise

Not the history — the shade. Reviewers describe guides timing water breaks, finding shade at every stop and setting the pace for the slowest walker. One traveller using a cane completed the El Morro walk on a day above 100°F because the guide said at the outset that they would all go at a pace that worked.

Book it on the first day

It comes up again and again: travellers who took a walk early found their way around unaided for the rest of the week, and travellers who left it late wrote about places they had wanted to go back to and ran out of time for.

The blue cobbles are what people go home and look up

One reviewer says exactly that — the adoquines were the detail they had not known about, and they went and read more once they were home. The streets do a great deal of the work here.

Operator ratings and review counts

These figures are the operators' own, published on their booking listings and shown here as they stand. They belong to the operators, not to us. Every fare in the last column is priced per person.

Two products in that table are food tours at the same price from operators with similar names, and both are real and separately bookable. What the walking tours cover is on the walking tours page; which ones include a fort ticket is on the fort tours page.
